The Story in 60 Seconds

Rangers midfielder Nico Raskin has revealed that missing out on the 2023 League Cup final through injury still bothers him, as he targets his first silverware with the club. Serving as stand-in captain, the 25-year-old led Derek McInnes' side to a Premier Sports Cup semi-final victory over Aberdeen to secure a return to Hampden Park on December 13.

Raskin almost joined Turkish side Besiktas on transfer deadline day but believes staying at Ibrox provides the opportunity to finally lift a trophy. Despite family members counting the 2023 victory as his, Raskin refuses to claim it after an ankle injury prevented him from featuring in the latter stages of the tournament.
