Key Things to Know

Kevin Phillips predicts Everton will sign a new forward in January to relieve pressure on Thierno Barry.
Thierno Barry is currently the only recognized first-team striker available to manager David Moyes.
Everton previously sold Beto to Fiorentina and missed out on a permanent £40 million deal for Folarin Balogun.

The Story in 60 Seconds

Former Premier League Golden Boot winner Kevin Phillips expects Everton to sign another striker in the January transfer window to provide competition for Thierno Barry. Phillips stated that Everton likely has someone lined up to ease the scoring burden on the French forward, who is currently the only recognized striker in manager David Moyes' first-team squad.

Barry has scored seven goals in 11 matches this season, including a strike in Everton's recent 3-1 Carabao Cup victory over Newcastle United. The club was left short of options after selling Beto to Fiorentina and seeing a £40 million move for Monaco's Folarin Balogun collapse late in the summer window.
