The Story in 60 Seconds

Former West Ham United and Reading winger Thierry Nevers was recently in court facing a Proceeds of Crime Act hearing following a three-year prison sentence for drug offences. The 24-year-old, who previously played alongside Bayern Munich star Michael Olise in Reading's youth ranks, had pleaded guilty in December 2025 to conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.

While Olise secured a £50m move to Bayern Munich and placed ninth in the 2026 Ballon d'Or rankings, Nevers' football career ended after stints with Newport County, Bradford City, Sheriff Tiraspol, and NK Varazdin. Lincoln Crown Court heard Nevers benefited by £171,000 from drug dealing, with a contested confiscation hearing adjourned until January.
