The Story in 60 Seconds

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones stated that making a midseason coaching change is not on his mind following a 33-30 overtime loss to the Arizona Cardinals. The defeat dropped Dallas to a 3-5 record under head coach Brian Schottenheimer. Quarterback Dak Prescott strongly defended Schottenheimer after the game, calling attempts to blame only the head coach weak and cowardly.

The Cowboys surrendered a fourth-quarter lead after Cardinals backup quarterback Gardner Minshew entered the contest and threw three touchdowns. Jones acknowledged that the team dropped the ball after having the win in hand, but recalled his regret over firing Wade Phillips midseason in 2010 and noted the current situation does not warrant a similar move.
