Newcastle United youngster Matheos Ferreira has received his first international call-up after being selected for the Brazil Under-20s squad. The 18-year-old is the only English-based player included for upcoming friendly matches against Japan and Singapore.
Born in Ashington, Ferreira qualifies to represent Brazil through his father and signed his first professional contract with Newcastle last August. He has scored twice in ten appearances for the Under-21 side this season while adapting to a central attacking midfield role.
