The Dallas Stars have reassigned defenseman Trey Taylor to their AHL affiliate, the Texas Stars. Taylor was in the lineup for Texas against Rockford on Sunday, scoring his first goal of the season to become recall-eligible again. The move came shortly after he was initially recalled on Thursday to potentially make his NHL debut against the Montreal Canadiens following an injury to Kyle Capobianco.
With Dallas currently carrying six healthy blueliners on their active roster, the reassignment could be temporary to keep the 24-year-old active. Taylor signed as an undrafted free agent from Clarkson University and is in a crucial contract year ahead of restricted free agency with arbitration rights this summer.
