Bacio Proves Best In Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint

Bacio earned a dominant two-length victory in the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint at Keeneland under jockey Juan Hernandez. Trained by Wesley Ward, the son of Maclean’s Music led early, completing the 5½ furlongs on firm turf in 1:02.11. The win marked Hernandez's first Breeders' Cup victory and Ward's seventh career Breeders' Cup trophy, while completing an international treble that included victories at Royal Ascot and York.

Cy Fair rallied under John Velazquez to secure second place, finishing a neck ahead of third-place finisher Starlust. Time to Dazzle and post-time favorite Comanche Brave completed the close finish in a dead-heat for fourth. The victory paid $520,000 to the winning ownership group, which includes MyRacehorse, increasing Bacio’s career earnings to over $1.2 million across seven starts.
