The Penguins made a roster move Sunday to send one of their young forwards back to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (WBS).

The Pittsburgh Penguins re-assigned 22-year-old forward Rutger McGroarty to their AHL affiliate, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. McGroarty had served as an extra forward for games against the Utah Mammoth and the Montreal Canadiens but did not appear in either contest. Following the move, he suited up for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Sunday and scored a goal in their 5-0 win over the Hershey Bears.
McGroarty was previously recalled on Oct. 22 after Bryan Rust and Ben Kindel were placed on injured reserve. He has appeared in two NHL games with no points this season, alongside compiling five goals and 10 points in seven AHL appearances.
