Granit Xhaka insists Sunderland’s players must take responsibility for the club's poor run of form and has backed under-fire head coach Regis Le Bris…
Sunderland captain Granit Xhaka has firmly defended head coach Regis Le Bris, insisting the players must take responsibility for the club's poor Premier League form. Following a 3-1 defeat at Coventry City that left Sunderland bottom of the table, Xhaka stated that neither Le Bris nor the coaching staff are to blame for the team's struggles.
Xhaka also dismissed the club's Europa League fixture load as an excuse, instead pointing directly to recurring individual errors that lead to conceded goals. Despite strong cup performances, Sunderland have secured just one victory in their first nine league matches and sit two points from safety.
