Barcelona goalkeeper Joan Garcia praised Frenkie de Jong and Brian Farinas for their performances in an unfamiliar defensive backline during Saturday's 6-1 victory over Alaves. Due to an injury crisis sidelining Xavi Espart, Andreas Christensen, Jules Kounde, and Eric Garcia, manager Hansi Flick deployed the two regular midfielders in defense at Camp Nou.
Speaking to Movistar, Garcia commended Farinas's personality and De Jong's composure on the ball. Following previous defeats to PSG and Real Madrid, Garcia noted the team bounced back well as they prepare to host Aston Villa in the Champions League.
