Ex-McLaren scout who helped Lewis Hamilton saw early sign Kimi Antonelli would become ‘number one’

Renowned talent scout Dino Chiesa revealed he always knew Kimi Antonelli would reach the top of motorsport after monitoring the Italian driver from his karting days. Chiesa, who previously assessed Lewis Hamilton's professionalism ahead of his 2007 McLaren signing, reflected on Antonelli's rapid progression following the 20-year-old's achievement of becoming the youngest Formula 1 world champion in 2026.

Speaking to Corriere della Sera, Chiesa highlighted Antonelli's intense dedication to analyzing data and reviewing race footage rather than focusing on social media. Chiesa also drew comparisons between Antonelli and Hamilton, noting both drivers share a unique ability to instantly push race cars to their limits.
