Calgary Flames goaltending prospect Arsenii Sergeev tackled a demanding schedule last week by playing consecutive high-volume games across the AHL and NHL. Due to an injury to Devin Cooley and a weekend back-to-back, Sergeev started for the Flames against the Colorado Avalanche on Oct. 31, just two days after playing for the AHL's Calgary Wranglers.
Sergeev stopped 36 of 38 shots to defeat the Laval Rocket in the AHL before making 28 saves on 33 shots against Colorado. Matthews highlights that despite the challenging NHL matchup, Sergeev gained valuable experience after totaling 64 saves across both leagues.
