Gujarat reach 300-5 as Urvil Patel and Vishal Jayswal steady the innings against Kerala’s bowlers on day one.
Gujarat finished day one of their Ranji Trophy Elite Group C match against Kerala at 300 for five at the Narendra Modi stadium. An unbroken 111-run sixth-wicket partnership between Urvil Patel, who scored 63 not out, and Vishal Jayswal, who added an unbeaten 50, revived the hosts from 189 for five.
Earlier in the day, opener Aarya Desai top-scored with 95 before falling to Vaisakh Chandran. Kerala had briefly fought back during the post-lunch session, but dropped chances and missed opportunities in the final session allowed Gujarat to reclaim control.
