Half-centuries from Anuj Tiwary and Vikalp Tiwari steered Chhattisgarh to 279 for seven against Hyderabad on day one of their Ranji Trophy encounter. Despite early wickets from Hyderabad bowlers Rakshann Readdi and Aniketh Reddy that left Chhattisgarh under pressure, Anuj scored 72 and Vikalp added 69 to steady the innings. The pair shared a vital 93-run partnership to wrestle back momentum.
Hyderabad regained ground later in the day as C.V. Milind dismissed Anuj and Ruthik Yadav bowled Vikalp. Rakshann also removed Prateek Yadav before bad light brought an early end to play after 87 overs, leaving Jayant Yadav unbeaten on 36.
