The Story in 60 Seconds

Crystal Palace and Fulham could submit offers for Trabzonspor centre-back Chibuike Nwaiwu during the January transfer window. Both Premier League sides hold a strong interest in the 23-year-old Nigeria international, who joined the Turkish club from Wolfsberger AC for around €5.5m in January. Fulham previously pursued a permanent transfer in the summer, reportedly agreeing to personal terms before negotiations with Trabzonspor stalled over a replacement.

Trabzonspor are reportedly reluctant to sanction a mid-season departure and would demand an astronomical fee to let the defender leave. Nwaiwu is under contract until 2030, and sources close to the player indicate he is content to remain with the Süper Lig side until the conclusion of the season unless an exceptional proposal convinces all parties.
