AJ Dybantsa's development could get a major boost from Anthony Davis. Few No. 1 picks get to learn from a talent like him so early in their careers.
Wiz of Awes writer Ethan Kinney argues that playing alongside veteran big man Anthony Davis is significantly easing rookie AJ Dybantsa's transition with the Washington Wizards. Kinney notes that unlike many top picks who shoulder an entire franchise's load alone, Dybantsa benefits from shared responsibility alongside experienced stars, helping his long-term development.
The Wizards started the season 3-3, achieving three wins before December for the first time since 2023. Kinney highlights that learning alongside seasoned teammates such as Davis, Trae Young, Khris Middleton, and Deandre Ayton allows Dybantsa to compete in meaningful games and avoid forming bad habits early in his career.
