Liverpool have been enraged following VAR's lack of intervention in their 1-0 defeat to Arsenal.

Former Premier League referee Keith Hackett stated that Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber should have conceded a penalty and received a red card against Liverpool. Hackett argued that Timber pulled Alexander Isak's shirt to stop him reaching a cross, which he believes was a clear denial of an obvious goal-scoring opportunity that VAR improperly overlooked.
Manager Andoni Iraola echoed the view that Liverpool should have received a penalty for the foul on Isak, while also noting another unpunished holding incident involving Cody Gakpo. Timber later received a yellow card during an altercation with Alexis Mac Allister and Noni Madueke.
