Xabi Alonso has already decided Chelsea’s top January transfer target

Spanish journalist Juan Jesus reports that Chelsea have informed both Barcelona and the French international of their intentions. Alonso is reportedly eager to reach out to Kounde's representatives to bring him to Stamford Bridge to bolster the defensive line.

Kounde has reportedly fallen down the pecking order under Hansi Flick at Barcelona, starting only one La Liga match this season. Barcelona will reportedly only consider permanent transfer bids if Kounde specifically requests to leave the club. Chelsea previously pursued the 27-year-old in 2022 and are now monitoring his situation closely amid questions about Malo Gusto's long-term future.
