Kyrie Irving Trade Prediction Isn’t Something The Pistons Want To Hear
Key Things to Know
  • NBA insider Tim McMahon believes the Dallas Mavericks will find it very difficult to trade Kyrie Irving this season.
  • Sports Illustrated previously linked the Detroit Pistons as potential suitors for Irving at the trade deadline.
  • Irving has averaged 21.4 points, 4.8 assists, and 3.4 rebounds per game through his first five contests.
The Story in 60 Seconds

NBA insider Tim McMahon reported on The Hoop Collective that the Dallas Mavericks are unlikely to trade star Kyrie Irving. While Detroit Pistons trade rumors emerged from Sports Illustrated's Chris Mannix, McMahon noted that Irving's strong chemistry with Cooper Flagg and the Mavericks' competitive play make any midseason trade difficult.

Irving is currently averaging 21.4 points, 4.8 assists, and 3.4 rebounds through five games following his recovery from a major knee injury. Although Justin Grasso argues Irving would fit alongside Cade Cunningham, the Pistons started the season 5-1 and are not desperate for a move.
