Former Ipswich Town winger Mustapha Carayol has officially announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 38. The Gambian international confirmed the end of his 20-year playing career in a statement on social media, expressing gratitude for his time in the sport and confirming his intention to transition into football agency.
Carayol made eight appearances and scored one goal for Ipswich Town during the 2017/18 season. Throughout a career spanning more than 450 senior matches, he represented clubs including MK Dons, Bristol Rovers, Middlesbrough, Nottingham Forest, and Peterborough Sports, alongside earning seven international caps for Gambia.
