Man Utd beware! Malen is a man transformed at Roma

Roma forward Donyell Malen heads into Tuesday's Champions League match against Manchester United as Europe's top scorer in major leagues in 2026. The 27-year-old Netherlands international has recorded 18 open-play goals in 2026, leading all players across the continent's elite divisions. Following a 14-goal loan spell, Malen has continued his fine form this season with eight goals in eight Serie A games.

Sky Sports' Adam Bate attributes Malen's transformation to Roma manager Gian Piero Gasperini deploying him consistently as a central striker. Gasperini's direct, vertical tactics have maximized Malen's speed and penalty-box efficiency, presenting a significant challenge to Manchester United's defense.
