The OKC Thunder should strongly consider using Nikola Topic's expiring contract in a trade for veteran Jordan Goodwin.

Thunderous Intentions writer Mark Nilon proposes that the Oklahoma City Thunder and Phoenix Suns explore a trade swapping guard Nikola Topic for Jordan Goodwin. The Thunder are coping with severe injury setbacks to key rotation defenders, while the Suns reportedly face growing frustration regarding their need for a true floor general to organize their offense.
Nilon argues that the salaries match seamlessly, with Topic earning $5.4 million and Goodwin making $5.9 million. Because Goodwin re-signed on a four-year deal in the offseason, the hypothetical exchange would have to wait until January 15 when trade restrictions lift.
