Gardner Minshew Named Cardinals Starting Quarterback, Carson Beck Made Backup

The Arizona Cardinals have named Gardner Minshew II as their starting quarterback, moving rookie Carson Beck to the backup role. Jacoby Brissett, who started the previous game against the Dallas Cowboys, has been demoted to the emergency third quarterback position ahead of the NFL trade deadline on November 10. Head coach Mike LaFleur announced the depth chart changes following a team meeting on Monday.

Minshew earned the starting role after sparking a come-from-behind overtime victory in Dallas. Entering in the second half, he completed 17 of 23 passes for 188 yards and three touchdowns across four consecutive scoring drives. LaFleur stated promoting Beck to backup was key for his development, while Brissett's future with the team remains uncertain.
