Edwards: Borthwick turned down my offer to work with England

Renowned defense coach Shaun Edwards revealed that England head coach Steve Borthwick turned down his offer to join the coaching staff for the 2027 Rugby World Cup. Speaking on the BBC's Rugby Union Weekly podcast, Edwards stated he offered to serve in any capacity, even as an assistant kit man, but Borthwick honestly expressed satisfaction with his current coaching group.

Edwards recently completed a successful six-year tenure with France, winning three Six Nations titles, and has joined Argentina's staff through the 2027 tournament. Meanwhile, England's coaching team continues with Richard Wigglesworth overseeing defense as they prepare for upcoming Nations Championship fixtures against Australia, Japan, and New Zealand.
