The Mavericks announced disappointing Kyrie Irving news before facing the Kings, just days after his season-best performance.

The Dallas Mavericks have ruled out veteran guard Kyrie Irving for Monday's home game against the Sacramento Kings. Dallas listed left knee injury management as the reason for his absence as they carefully manage his workload following a prior torn ACL. The designation marks Irving's second missed game of the season.
Irving recently posted a season-high 35 points in a 116-111 victory over the Houston Rockets. In his absence, reigning Rookie of the Year Cooper Flagg is expected to shoulder an increased offensive role as the 4-2 Mavericks look to extend their three-game winning streak.
