The Houston Astros are exercising the $13.35 million option on Isaac Paredes’ contract, which will keep him under contract for the 2027 season.

The Houston Astros have exercised their $13.35 million contract option on infielder Isaac Paredes for the 2027 season. By exercising the option, Houston avoids arbitration, where MLB Trade Rumors projected Paredes could have commanded around $15 million in his final year of eligibility.
Paredes batted .262 with 25 home runs and 94 RBIs in 155 games during the 2026 season. Despite picking up the option, the Astros could reportedly explore trade opportunities as the club looks to trim payroll under incoming front-office leadership.
