Edson Barboza is scheduled to return to combat sports to face fellow UFC veteran Rashid Magomedov in a "battle match" at ACBJJ on November 13 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The bout marks the 40-year-old fighter's first match since retiring from the UFC following a second-round TKO loss to Esteban Ribovics in August.
ACBJJ "battle match" rules permit submissions as well as strikes with hands, legs, elbows, knees, and the head, with only strikes above the collarbone prohibited. The ACBJJ 23 event will also feature Andre Galvao facing Rousimar Palhares in the main event, alongside a no-gi co-main event between Rodolfo Vieira and Kelvin Gastelum.
