Bleedin' Blue's Joe DeMarini argues that the St. Louis Blues made the right decision by steering clear of acquiring center Shane Wright. Wright, drafted fourth overall in 2022, was recently dealt from the Seattle Kraken to the Nashville Predators in a one-for-one trade for winger Matthew Wood.
DeMarini writes that acquiring Wright would have cost valuable young assets like Jake Neighbours or Jimmy Snuggerud. Furthermore, the writer contends that St. Louis is already well-stocked at center with Robert Thomas, Mason McTavish, and Dalibor Dvorsky.
