Defenseman has missed start of season with broken hand suffered in preseason fight against Chicago Blackhawks…

The St. Louis Blues have assigned defenseman Logan Mailloux to the Springfield Thunderbirds of the AHL on a conditioning assignment. The 23-year-old defenseman has missed the first 14 games of the regular season after undergoing surgery on his right hand on September 28.
Mailloux suffered the injury during a fight in the Blues' final preseason game against the Chicago Blackhawks. Although his initial evaluation timeline projected a late November return, his assignment indicates an accelerated recovery, leaving St. Louis with upcoming roster decisions on their blue line.
