Steven Gerrard praised Tottenham Hotspur academy graduate Luca Williams-Barnett following his senior debut in a 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace. Speaking on The Overlap Daily, Gerrard compared the teenager to Rio Ngumoha and praised his crossing ability, stating that Tottenham supporters should be excited about the youngster's future prospects.
The 18-year-old came on as a late substitute for Mathys Tel and created a scoring chance for Mohammed Kudus after a run down the wing. Pundit Jamie Redknapp and Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi both echoed Gerrard's praise, commending Williams-Barnett's talent following his brief cameo.
