Atlanta Braves manager Walt Weiss and pitcher Chris Sale have been named finalists for major BBWAA awards. Weiss is a finalist for National League Manager of the Year alongside Pat Murphy and Don Mattingly, with the winner announced November 10. Sale is an NL Cy Young Award finalist alongside Jacob Misiorowski and Cristopher Sánchez, with that announcement set for November 11 on MLB Network.
Weiss led the Braves to the NL East title in his first season despite losing multiple starting pitchers to injury and navigating Ronald Acuña Jr.'s absence. Meanwhile, the 37-year-old Sale posted a 2.16 ERA and tallied 200 strikeouts during the regular season.
