Goaltender Jacob Markström struggled upon returning from a two-week injury absence as the Florida Panthers fell 5-3 to the Detroit Red Wings at Amerant Bank Arena. Markström made 24 saves on 28 shots, while Sam Reinhart, Aaron Ekblad, and Sam Bennett scored for Florida. Detroit ultimately sealed the victory with an empty-net goal from Emmitt Finnie.
Ryan Gagne highlights Markström's continuing sub-.900 save percentage struggles, noting he has only surpassed that mark twice across seven starts this season. Gagne also criticized Florida's lack of intensity, pointing out the Panthers generated only four shots on goal during the final period.
