The Story in 60 Seconds

Everton striker Thierno Barry had his home burgled despite purchasing a professionally trained guard dog just weeks earlier. Robbers targeted the 24-year-old French footballer's seven-bedroom mansion in Bowdon, Greater Manchester, while Barry, his partner Charlene, and their one-year-old daughter were away attending Everton's Carabao Cup victory over Newcastle.

Barry had acquired the trained Rottweiler from specialist security firm Phoenix Dogs six weeks prior to provide protection during away matches. It is feared that the intruders may have planned the break-in using online video tours of the property that were previously posted to social media platforms.
