The San Francisco Giants parted ways with nine players on Monday to reduce their 40-man roster. Pitchers José Buttó and Tristan Beck headlined the departures, alongside Duncan Davitt, Brett Harris, Shay Whitcomb, Zach Morgan, Joel Kuhnel, Seth Lonsway, and Reiver Sanmartin. Five of the players were claimed off waivers, while Beck was placed on unconditional release waivers.
The moves allowed the Giants to reinstate 15 players from the 60-day injured list, including Rafael Devers and Matt Chapman. Additionally, the team declined an $800,000 club option for 2027 on Rowan Wick, though he remains under club control via arbitration eligibility.
