Tottenham and Chelsea join race to scout Monza striker Gustavo Varela in Italy.
Tottenham Hotspur have joined London rivals Chelsea in scouting Monza forward Gustavo Varela following his impressive start to the Serie A season. According to transfer specialist Graeme Bailey, representatives from both Premier League sides were in Italy on Saturday to monitor the Portuguese striker's performance.
Varela has reportedly emerged as one of Italian football's most sought-after young attacking talents due to his physical presence and sharp movement. Spurs view the forward as a fit for manager Roberto De Zerbi's tactical system as the club explores a potential permanent move to bolster attacking depth alongside Dominic Solanke and Mathys Tel.
