And the Leafs trashed the SBA last night.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced that Russian athletes will not be granted visas to compete for their country in Canada while the war in Ukraine continues. Carney confirmed the ban specifically bars Russian players from participating in the upcoming World Junior Championship, responding to a Court of Arbitration for Sport ruling directing the IIHF to allow Russia and Belarus into events.
Elsewhere, the Toronto Maple Leafs fell 3-2 to Utah, despite two goals from Jack Roslovic. Looking ahead, coach Jim Hiller did not commit to John Tavares returning for the weekend back-to-back, while Kirill Marchenko remains at least a week away from returning to action.
