Bowen, Taty and ‘fantastic’ Areola: What Scott Parker said about West Ham stars

Scott Parker has been confirmed as West Ham United's new head coach, prompting analysis of his previous comments on current Hammers stars Alphonse Areola, Jarrod Bowen, and Taty Castellanos. Parker previously managed Areola at Fulham during the 2020/21 season, where he praised the goalkeeper as "fantastic" for his command, physical presence, and shot-stopping ability amid growing fan calls for Areola to replace Mads Hermansen.

The article also highlights Parker's past praise for captain Jarrod Bowen while he was at Hull City, as well as Castellanos, who scored against Parker's Burnley side earlier in the year. The report notes that Parker faces decisions regarding a crowded attacking lineup that includes Joel Piroe, Manor Solomon, and Castellanos as West Ham looks to rebound following a 3-1 defeat to West Brom.
