The Bills are not the first team to come to such a verdict.

The Buffalo Bills released defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson on Tuesday after determining he had become too high maintenance, according to Pro Football Talk. The decision came despite head coach Joe Brady previously indicating that the team planned to keep him following a one-game suspension for spitting toward Raiders tight end Brock Bowers in Week 6.
Gardner-Johnson started six games for Buffalo after signing a one-year deal in the offseason, recording 26 combined tackles and one interception. Following a 36-10 victory over the Baltimore Ravens during his suspension, the Bills opted to part ways with the veteran defensive back.
