The Story in 60 Seconds

Canberra Raiders forward Hudson Young has arrived in Port Moresby alongside his manager Sam Ayoub to hold contract talks with the PNG Chiefs. Young, who is currently recovering from an Achilles injury, was met by Chiefs coach Willie Peters, CEO Lorna McPherson, and general manager of football Michael Chammas. The expansion club is attempting to finalize a permanent deal for Young worth $900,000 per season.

Young's visit will allow him to assess the working and living conditions in Papua New Guinea ahead of the Chiefs' 2028 debut.
