Interest in hiring one of the Milwaukee Brewers' excellent front office executives is unsurprisingly growing around the league.

The Athletics have hired Milwaukee Brewers executive Cam Castro to serve as their new general manager, according to MLB insider Ken Rosenthal. Castro will work under newly appointed president of baseball operations Taylor Smith as the Athletics reshape their front office ahead of their relocation to Las Vegas. The hiring follows the Athletics mutually parting ways with former general manager David Forst in August.
Castro initially joined the Brewers in 2019 as a minor league pitching coach and rose through the organization to become the senior vice president of player development and performance. The move comes as several teams target personnel from Milwaukee's front office following the franchise's recent World Series championship.
