The Athletics have officially hired Cam Castro as their new general manager, the club announced on Wednesday. The 36-year-old executive joins newly hired president of baseball operations Taylor Smith to help reshape the organization's front office leadership following a 64-98 season.
Castro spent the past two seasons as senior vice president of player development and performance with the Milwaukee Brewers. He previously worked as a throwing trainer at Driveline Baseball before joining Milwaukee in 2019, where he steadily rose through pitching development roles.
