The Nuggets' defensive rebounding is in shambles through six games compared to last year. There needs to be a team effort to help out Nikola Jokic.

David Decker argues that the Denver Nuggets must significantly improve their defensive rebounding, noting the issue extends beyond center Nikola Jokic. After finishing third in defensive rebounding last season, Denver dropped to 26th through six games. The struggles were highlighted in a 118-110 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers, who dominated the glass 53-37 and grabbed 21 offensive rebounds.
Jamal Murray emphasized that teammates have become overly reliant on Jokic to secure rebounds and must provide more support. While Jokic's defensive rebounding average has dropped from over 9.5 to 7.5 per game, Decker suggests early-season rust is a factor and notes the team still has time to improve.
