Levels above Nagelsmann: Man Utd want to hire “world-class” boss after Roma

Ethan Lamb of Football FanCast argues that Manchester United should pursue Aston Villa manager Unai Emery over Julian Nagelsmann if they replace Michael Carrick. Despite Carrick guiding United to a 3-2 Champions League comeback win over AS Roma, pressure remains on his position as the club's hierarchy draws up contingency options. While recruitment director Christopher Vivell reportedly favors Nagelsmann, Lamb contends Emery represents a superior option.

According to Fabrizio Romano, United view Emery as a fantastic candidate, though Aston Villa have no intention of letting him leave. Lamb highlights Emery's record of eight major European trophies—including five Europa League titles—and his established Premier League experience, arguing the Spaniard is levels above Nagelsmann and the ideal candidate to end United's struggles.
