Postava Returning to Red Wings

The Detroit Red Wings recalled goaltender Michal Postava from the Grand Rapids Griffins under emergency conditions on Wednesday. The move comes after Detroit goalie John Gibson suffered a lower-body injury during Tuesday's loss against the Tampa Bay Lightning. In corresponding moves, the Red Wings placed defenseman Albert Johansson on injured reserve, while Grand Rapids summoned goaltender Carter Gylander from the ECHL.

Postava enters the NHL roster following an exceptional stretch in the AHL, having been named the AHL Goaltender of the Month for October with a 5-0 record, a 1.20 goals-against average, and a .955 save percentage. Detroit head coach Todd McLellan noted that both the coaching staff and players hold immense confidence in the young Czech goaltender.
