The Detroit Tigers should look to be active this offseason as they look to get back into playoff contention.

MLB analyst Anthony Franco of MLBTradeRumors predicts the Detroit Tigers will sign free agent reliever Bryan Abreu to a two-year, $22 million contract. The former Houston Astros pitcher is seen as a potential high-leverage bullpen addition for Detroit following an inconsistent 2026 campaign.
Abreu, who won the World Series with Houston in 2022, recorded a 6-4 record with a 3.73 ERA last season while experiencing diminished fastball velocity. Tigers president of baseball operations Scott Harris stated the club will prioritize player development over major free-agent spending, though Detroit could target supplemental bullpen pieces.
