Penrice has been called up to the Scotland senior squad for the first time.
Rangers midfielder Nico Raskin playfully hijacked a Rangers TV interview to congratulate teammate James Penrice on earning his first senior Scotland national team call-up. Manager Sébastien Pocognoli named the 27-year-old left-back in the squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures against North Macedonia and Switzerland. Fellow Rangers players Findlay Curtis and Liam Kelly were also included in the national team roster.
Penrice revealed he learned about his international selection only five minutes prior to a training session. The defender expressed immense pride for himself and his family, admitting he never envisioned receiving a senior Scotland call-up during the early stages of his football career.
