Former Rangers player Kyle Hutton denies causing Victoria Cairns’ death in a Rutherglen fatal road crash; trial at Glasgow High Court set for February 2028.
Former Rangers player Kyle Hutton is set to stand trial accused of killing 40-year-old Victoria Cairns in a road collision. Prosecutors allege that Hutton was unfit to drive through alcohol or drugs, driving at excessive speed on Farmeloan Road in Rutherglen on November 2, 2024, when he struck Cairns, leading to her death in the hospital four days later.
Hutton pleaded not guilty through his defense counsel at the High Court in Glasgow to charges including causing death by dangerous driving and refusing breath and drug tests. Lord Scott scheduled the trial to begin in February 2028, with Hutton remaining on bail in the interim.
