Defender suffers blow just minutes into Championship match…

Swansea City defender Stephen Welsh has emerged as a major injury concern for Scotland after being forced off just 24 minutes into Tuesday's Championship match against Portsmouth. The 26-year-old suffered an apparent knee issue following a challenge by Ebou Adams and was substituted by Benjamin Cabango. The setback occurred only hours after Welsh was included in the national squad for upcoming fixtures against North Macedonia and Switzerland.
A potential withdrawal by Welsh poses a defensive headache for head coach Sebastien Pocognoli, who is already missing injured centre-back Scott McKenna. The remaining central defensive options in the squad include Jack Hendry, Luke Graham, and Luis Binks. If Welsh cannot participate, LAFC's Ryan Porteous or Wrexham's Dom Hyam could be summoned as cover.
