There's an idea that this adjustment will help Buffalo Bills' defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard when making in-game adjustments. In fact, it already has.

Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard moved from the sideline to the coaches' booth following the Week 7 bye week. The adjustment paid immediate dividends in Week 8, as Buffalo's defense delivered its most dominant performance of the season by holding the Baltimore Ravens to just 144 total yards in a 36-10 victory.
Leonhard explained that the elevated view gave him the best opportunity to call a clean game and plan substitutions. Buffalo head coach Joe Brady praised the sideline-to-booth communication as elite, and Leonhard confirmed he plans to remain in the coaches' box moving forward.
