Newcastle and Kangaroos star Best has opened up on his contract dealings with Peter O’Sullivan before his departure to Brisbane.
Kangaroos centre Bradman Best has explained his public criticism of former Newcastle Knights recruitment boss Peter O’Sullivan, revealing he felt disrespected during initial contract negotiations. Best explained that unreturned calls and broken appointments strained talks before O’Sullivan departed for the Brisbane Broncos. Currently off contract, Best has been linked to the Parramatta Eels, though he expressed a desire to remain in Newcastle.
The Knights have reportedly offered Best a three-year contract worth approximately $1 million per season, with potential for a fourth year. Meanwhile, Best remains focused on Australia's World Cup semi-final against Samoa, holding the starting left centre role over Latrell Mitchell, while teammate Reece Walsh manages a groin issue ahead of Sunday's match.
